Adonis “Superman” Stevenson became the new WBC Lt. heavyweight champion of the world with a lightning strike!
Adonis KO’d former champion Chad Dawson in the first round during the main fight of the card held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
Stevenson floored Dawson with a powerful left left hook, which Chad conceded he never saw. Chad bravely stood up, but he was all at sea, not properly responding to the indications of Referee Michael Griffin, who promptly, prudently and correctly stopped the fight.
After proudly having conquered the WBC title, Stevenson challenged Bernard Hopkins and Andre Ward.
